Spiritual Foundation

Alcoholics Anonymous believes firmly in its 12 Steps, and it is easy to see why. At least 75 to 93% of its earliest members were able to recover from  seemingly hopes cases of addiction –all  through utmost reliance in God as Supreme Being and having a personal relationship with Him that is based on the principles and teachings of the Scripture. The Bible is considered the standard of truth by most of AA members and it is also from this Holy Book that the organization's founders based their recovery ideas. AA believes that the Bible is the ultimate source of all the guidelines each and every person needs in his or her life.

The same reverence that the earliest members of the AA gave to the Scripture can be found in Christian Rehab Centers, who base their treatment programs on the wisdom of the Bible. The Bible, in fact, serves as the Spiritual Foundation of the 12-Step Christian Track offered in most Christian Rehab Centers. Understanding this program necessitates understanding of where the AA drew their 12 steps from, which are as follows:

  1. Admit powerlessness over addiction and compulsive behavior and that your life is already unmanageable.
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
    (Romans 7:18)
  2. Believe that only a power greater and above human can restore your sanity.
For it is God who is at work in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. (Philippians 2:13)
  3. Decide to submit your life and will to God's care
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1)
  4. Search and fearlessly audit your morals.
Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD. (Lamentations 3:40)
  5. Admit to God, to others, and yourself the exact nature of your wrongdoings.
Therefore, confess your sins to each other, and pray for each other, so that you may be healed. (James 5:16a)
  6. Be ready for God's removal of your character's defects
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:10)
  7. Humbly ask Him to remove all your shortcomings.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
  8. List all the people you have harmed and make willing amends with them.
Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Luke 6:31)
  9. Make direct amends to these people whenever there is opportunity except if doing so would injure them or other people.
Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; and then come and offer your gift. (Matthew 5:23-24)
  10.  Continue to conduct personal inventory and when you are wrong, promptly admit it.
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! (1 Corinthians 10:12)
  11.  Pray and meditate to seek an improvement of your conscious contact with God while asking for knowledge of His will and strength to carry it out.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. (Colossians 3:16a)
  12.  Carrying out the message to others as a result of having spiritual experience  from these steps and to  practice all these principles in all your affairs.
Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. (Galatians 6:1)

Testimonies

I have to say that CDAT knows what they are doing when it comes to assessing an addiction problem and finding the right counseling. We looked and spoke to over 10 centers all telling us what we wanted to hear. What was funny is they all had different diagnosis. Our son is doing very well with two yrs. clean.

Thanks CDAT team. We just did not know what the best solution was for our family and you made it possible to select the right program for my husband. I highly recommend them to help find the right rehab counseling options for anyone needing help.
